BEHIND THE SCENES @ GANT BY MICHAEL BASTIAN FALL 2012

Here are some behind the scene photos of the latest Gant by Michael Bastian Fall 2012 Collection that was on Wednesday, February 15th 2012 @ Exit Art. I am so mad that I wasn't there but things happen and I tried on my end so whatever.

GANT BY MICHAEL BASTIAN Fall 2012 Collection

For Michael Bastian's Gant Collection he went with a preppy 80's theme with a modern twist hence the black and white background as well as piano scarf accessory which screams 80's but I love it. There are so many great pieces in this collection from the olive parka to the tweed duffle coat and I can't stop staring at that yellow puffer vest with the burgundy cord shoulders and collar. For the women the most eye catching detail is actually an accessory, the one striped stockings featured in almost every pic. The look pictured right above is my favorite from the women's collection with the grey fur lined jacket.

NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD SS12 Blue Shoe

I haven't posted a women's shoe in a while so these Nicholas Kirkwood extravagant Spring/Summer 2012 shoe was just what I was looking for! If Tommy Ton catches you in a pair of these you will be a shoe-in, pun intended, on JakandJil.com. This shoe may be extreme but the colors/design/print looks so perfect to me!

VOGUE March 2012 Issue featuring Grammy Winner Adele

There is a lot hype going around about Adele and honestly I knew that this was going to happen eventually. I knew about her music from her last album with the "Chasing Pavements" song that had so much soul that I couldn't ignore it no matter how much I tried. Now the infamous singer won 5 Grammy's recently including album of the year and is featured on the cover of Vogue and inside with an editorial in the new March 2012 issue. She looks really beautiful and I always like a woman with a little cushion for the... you know the rest!

MAX MARA ATELIER Fall 2012 Collection

I was recently invited to the Max Mara Atelier Fall 2012 Collection Presentation during New York Fashion Week (thanks to Molly:) and I was blown away by the beautiful display of coats throughout the collection. The collection focuses on the theme of travel against the backdrop of a priority lounge in a large international airport, interpreted by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in the film The V.I.P.s  shown above. Their coats favor luxurious fabrics including double face cashmere, melton and pure camel hair in different and distinct achromatic colors. I also really like the cashmere flannel jumpsuits that not only look great but look extremely comfortable!
